ちょっとした縁で知り合った方が、今ちょうどCHAPTER2のAOを注文しているらしく。
チャプター２というと、ニールプライドで有名なマイケルプラウド氏が創設したブランドなのですが、ジワリジワリと人気を集めてますよね。

チャプター２のAOはグラベルロードで、フレームセット販売のみ。
チャプター２というブランド、キャニオン的に通販がメインのブランドだと思っていたのですが、日本でも取扱店はまだ多いとは言えないものの、少しずつ増えているっぽい。
AOは地面、土、地球を表すマオリ語とされてますが、デザイン性についてもちょっと独特な方向性と言いますか。
結構好きなんですよ、チャプター２。
グラベルロードというとグラベルレース目的・・・という方もいるでしょうけど、日本でグラベルレース自体はまだそんなに多いわけでもない。
購入した目的を聞いたのですが、路面を選ばないロングライドという位置付けでの購入だそうで。

ちょっと驚いたのは、BB規格がBSA（JIS）ということ。
ネジ切り最強伝説というか、メンテナンス性重視なんですかね？
トレックもBB90を捨ててT47の方向性っぽいですし、結局のところ圧入よりもネジ切り最強だし最高だぜという方向性。
いまや700cと650bのコンパチ仕様も、グラベルロードではお馴染みのもの。
話を聞いた限りでは、700cで組むといってました。
フレームセット販売で、値段は税別315,999円（税込347,599円）。
完成車にするにはなんだかんだ60万は超えてくるでしょうけど、チャプター２カッコいいんですよね。
ちなみにですがこういうご時世だからなのかは分かりませんが、納期は結構先の様子。
チャプター２はなかなか親切というか、納期の目安（？）みたいな日付が書いてありました。

サイズによっては納期が8月となってますからね・・・
私の場合、待つということが出来ない性格なので、欲しいと思ったときに欲しいので長期間待つことは出来ませんが、人気が高いという一つの証拠なのかもしれません。
グラベルロードをどう使うか？
グラベルロードって、だいぶ浸透してきた存在だと思います。
数年前だと、グラベルロードでロングライドｗとかよくわからないディスり方されたこともあるのですが、いまやエンデュランスロードとグラベルロードでフレームの方向性がかなり近づいているというか。
28cとか32cあたりでロングライド目的でも使えるし、本格的なグラベル走行をするならもっと太目のタイヤにするし。
フレームセットで買うなら、コンポをどうするか？という話にもなってきます。
予定ではGRXで組むといってましたが、フロントをダブルにするかシングルにするかはもう少し考えて決めるとのこと。
ちょっと話は変わりますが、今年ってデュラエースがモデルチェンジして12s化するのはほぼ確実だと思います。
GRXって、モデルチェンジして12s化の方向に行くんですかね？？
GRX800系がロードコンポだとアルテグラ相当になるわけで、アルテグラのモデルチェンジに合わせてGRXも動くのか？
それともまだそこまで販売期間が長いわけでもないから、しばらくモデルチェンジしないのか？

もう頭の中にシマノのロードコンポしかなかったので、カンパニョーロとか完全に無視した選択肢しか作っていなかったのですが。
11-42Tを追加した方もいるので、これはGRXのフロントシングルということ、でしょうか？？
まだ日本での販売店も少ないですし、ショップで実物を見る機会は少ないというか皆無に等しいブランドですが、チャプター２に注目しているサイクリストは意外と多いように感じます。
前にも読者様からチャプター２の購入相談を受けたような記憶がありますが、個人的にはオススメブランドの一つです。

トップ10入りは逃したものの、デローザやキャノンデール、ラピエールなど大手ブランドを抑えての12位。
注目度が急上昇しているブランドです。
2011年頃からクロスバイクやロードバイクにはまった男子です。今乗っているのはLOOK765。
ひょんなことから訴訟を経験し(本人訴訟)、法律の勉強をする中で道路交通法にやたら詳しくなりました。なので自転車と関係がない道路交通法の解説もしています。なるべく判例や解説書などの見解を取り上げるようにしてます。
現在はちょっと体調不良につき、自転車はお休み中。本当は輪行が好きなのですが。ロードバイクのみならずツーリングバイクにも興味あり。
